We are Tom & Sarah.
Tumbling Diaries is our notebook of stories, our dumping ground for thoughts, our reminder of highs and lows, our photo collage and our postcards to home (Hi Mum!). We named Tumbling Diaries as a reference to our trusty steeds (which are Tumbleweeds) and to rolling through life. We’ve somehow managed to work hard and wangle career breaks from our real lives of engineering and lawyer-ing, so we’re going to head off on our bikes around the world, take the road less travelled and see where this cliche takes us.
This is Tom (written by Sarah)….

Tom, also known as Ted because I’m forever asking him if he wants another cup of tea and he can fix and build anything, just like Ted Glen.
Ted never sits still. He is always fixing, mending and creating, whether that is taking something apart just to put it back together again; building from the ground up or just making a mess.
He’s an incredible drummer, never more alive than when he is behind his kit. He never follows the crowd. He always speaks the truth. He’s full of curiosity, forever wondering where the next trail goes. He’s silly and doesn’t take life too seriously. He’s always grumpy in the mornings, but usually* warms up by lunchtime. He doesn’t do small talk, but beyond that he’s a real storyteller. His way of doing things is always right, but he’s open-minded and accepting if you do (finally!) prove him wrong.
He’s a firm believer that you should never pass up an opportunity for an ice cream.
But above all, he has the heart of a giant.

This is Sarah (written by Tom)…
Sarah is lovely.
As brave as a lion, tough as an ox.
But packaged up like a little teeny tiny mouse.
Can always be relied upon for great pudding.
And dinner.
And tea. Always tea. So long as she has decaf earl grey.
Literally everything around me would be totally chaos without her. She often describes herself as that little vacuum cleaner robot from Wall-e
And to be fair I’m not too dissimilar to Wall-e!
Determined. Very very determined. Gets up at 5.30am everyday. Writes many lists about many things, whilst thinking about other things, followed by power workout, then a run or ride then breakfast, all before I’ve got up!
Always smiling.
Always moving.
Always thinking about others.
Always has cold feet.
Always reading a book with tea.
Always in bed by 9pm.
